I have been a Fireside customer for 28 years! When we first moved into this home, the original fireplace chimney had a crack and could not use the fireplace. We had just had a major storm, power outage with 3 young children, so we needed to resolve this quickly. We met with Tom, when he was still in Clarksville, and purchased a Jotul Freestanding Woodburning Stove. This little stove has served us well all these years and still going! Over the years we have used Fireside for chimney cleaning and chimney repairs. This year we decided to upgrade. We chose a newer Jotul Wood Burning Insert. Now I'm wondering what took me so long! This is a beautiful stove. We went with Jotul again, knowing the quality and design has lasted all these years. Fireside staff, crew and of course Tom, have been exceptional through the process. The crew came out, removed the old stove, and installed the new one. The crew was very pleasant and professional. We met with Tom who showed us how to use the new features. Our little stove is moving on. Tom will be taking our old stove to North Carolina to donate to the community in need. I still had the original manual! Someone will be able to use this stove. Who knows how long it will keep on providing warmth and comfort. Thank you again Tom and the rest of the team for making this happen! We are looking forward to using our new Jotul stove.

And the results? On day two of continuously running our Quadra-Fire wood stove insert, we’ve turned the heat completely off and our house is north of 70 degrees indoors — efficiently, comfortably, and at a fraction of what we were paying before.

We called Fireside when we had two fireplace issues. One issue was that we had had fireplace doors installed some years ago by a local company that had gone out of business. We needed help because one of our glass panels had broken and needed to be replaced. The other issue was that we had a second fireplace that we wanted to have doors installed on. We had one set of Stoller doors and wanted another one. We called Stoller and they gave us a Fireside recommendation. When we called, we were immediately treated with concern (for our broken glass) and interest in serving us. In the end, we used Fireside for both services and are very happy we did. They are complete professionals and incredibly kind and flexible. They accommodated all of our desires and did a fantastic job!!!

Had Fireside repoint my chimney and recap the top. Due to weather conditions of the day, the finished product didn't look great. After contacting the office, Tom the owner, personally came out to inspect the chimney and made sure all the fixes where done to superior quality. The chimney looks great and I'm very pleased with the finished product. Thanks to Fireside and the team for going above and beyond to make sure the job was at a superior quality. The team at Fireside was so very helpful from design to installation with the gas fireplace insert at our home. We were so happy to have our questions answered, while at the design office and during installation. We appreciated getting connected with a local plumber and electrician to make the process go smoothly and on schedule! We can’t say enough good things about Fireside Stone & Patio (Catonsville). It is a real treat to find a company that knows their craft and is honest and trustworthy. Everyone at Fireside, from the office staff to the work crews, is very professional and polite.
We had a challenging problem with a section of flagstone walkway that was constantly cracking. The owner (Tom) came out to assess the issue and presented a proposal that we feel will permanently resolve the problem. It involved tearing up a 17 foot section of the walkway (removing flagstone and underlying concrete) and refilling with concrete laced with heavy duty rebar. When the team began their work, it was discovered that the thickness of the original concrete far exceeded the standard of 4 inches. It was probably 10 – 12 inches thick! This required additional crews and extra days of work but we were never charged for the additional expense. The team reused as many of our flagstone pieces as possible and added pieces from their bone yard to replace broken slabs. The resulting section of walkway looks perfect and no one can even tell that any work was done on it.
On another project, Fireside came out to replace a cap on our chimney and address a draft that was coming into the house through the gas fireplace insert. While insulating the chimney, they found and resolved a serious fire hazard where the stove pipe was touching bare wood. We are very grateful for their thoroughness and care.

I had my gas insert installed 2 years ago. I have been extremely impressed with this business From the initial interaction in the showroom to the installation. All the staff I interacted with were professional, courteous and friendly. They provided detailed instructions on what was needed to install, recommendations for plumbers and electricians (who were also excellent). The installation was performed by the owner, Tom, and another employee. Needless to say it was done seamlessly and they took great care in explaining the operation of the fireplace and the remote, and took great care keeping the work area clean. Tom returned after installation and replaced the remote and the interior light because he was not satisfied with their operation. I was so impressed that he treated my home as if it was his own.
I have had the yearly routine service performed over the past 2 years. Again, it was done professionally and on the day and time scheduled. Recently I had an issue with the pilot light going out and called for service. I was originally scheduled for someone to come out in a couple of weeks but within 30 minutes of my call to the office, Tom contacted me and said he was in the area and had some time to check it out. It required a simple reset and he also spent time not only showing me how to do it myself but had me perform the procedure while he watched so I would be confident to reset the light if it was necessary at a future time. This business is truly customer oriented, with very pleasant and trained personnel from sales, to installation, to maintenance and repair. It is a pleasure to work with a company where the owner is truly vested in providing an excellent product and customer satisfaction. I highly recommend them.

Wonderful, professional help in providing a cozy wood insert that is perfect! Amala from Fireside was available for questions thru the buying process…..called when she said she would….priceless! Installation was clean and quick and done on time…..thank you…..And when all was said and done, Tom stopped by to answer questions we had with how to use and maintain our insert. Here’s a fun story: During the single-digit cold snap at Christmas, our street lost power for 4 days. My wife’s parents were visiting from out of state and the fireplace kept our house warm enough for everyone to stay comfortable. If it hadn’t been for the fireplace we would have spent the holiday at a hotel. But instead we camped out in the living room and all had the best Christmas in years.
